Rock Castle Dental Practice

Appointments

New Patients

We make sure all our new patients feel welcome, safe, and taken care of. During your first visit, a dentist will review your dental and medical history. For diagnosis, they will examine your teeth and take X-rays of your mouth. From there, the dentist will explain any issues and help you choose options for treatment.

At your first appointment you will be asked to fill in a confidential medical history form giving us important information about your health. Make a note of any medication you are taking and tell us about it when you attend. We may also ask you about your diet, alcohol intake and smoking habits, all of which have an impact on the health of your mouth.

If you have any specific problems or questions, it often helps to write them down before you attend.

Access

The practice has a car park directly to the front. We have ground floor surgeries which are suitable for patients in wheelchairs. A portable ramp is available for access from the car park, please let us know if this is required and we will make sure it is in place for you.

Cancellations

We can remind you 48 hours before your appointment by text or email. If you have to cancel an appointment we would like as much notice as possible. This enables us to make alternative arrangements, perhaps to see someone in pain. For private patients there is a charge for appointments broken without notice, while NHS patients may not be able to access our services in future.

Emergencies

We aim to see patients in pain as quickly as possible, usually on the same day as they phone. We keep spaces in our diary each day for emergencies so please always try and phone early in the morning.

An out of hours service for emergencies only is provided by NHS 111. Alternatively if you are a patient of the practice and need help or advice evenings or weekends, then phone 01594 834124 and listen carefully to the message. You will directed to a dentist from the practice, or a local dentist, who will help you. There is a minimum call out charge of £100 is is necessary to open the surgery to see you.

We want you to be entirely satisfied with your care and treatment. If you are not happy then please talk to us about it. We also like hearing from you if you think we are doing well!
